Sports games on the pc

Let me start by saying sports games are one of my favorite genres. I feel that sports games are an afterthought when they get ported to the pc and the console games are so much better. Anyone else notice this or feel this way. The version of Madden on the 360 and the version on the PC are like night and day. Why is this so? Do sport game makers not care about the pC?

Almost all games that get ported to the PC lose something, and aren't as good as if they'd been made for the PC. Usually I try to avoid ported games.

On the bright side you can get them cheaper on the PC. I just posted to Hot Deals that Madden 07 and FIFA 07 are only $7.99 at Circuit City for the PC.

wrong, PC has much more potential, if you are into matching the realism of sports throughout the course of the season you are able to make signficant mods that make the game more uptodate, this was the case with EA's MVP 2005, much better customization as opposed to outdated material on the console

NHL 07 works excellent on PC. Controls are perfect with the 360 controller. NHL 06 and NHL 04 were great on PC too. But of course EA refuses to add widescreen support in ANY game, so that's a bummer. I've played a little bit of some Maddens on PC and it was okay but not as good as on a console. I'm mostly into hockey though, so I'm glad they work fine and most importantly control like the console version.

I rented ESPN NHL 2k6 for my Xbox since I heard the ESPN games are generally better than the EA NHL ones. Wow... that game looks like NHL 1996. The graphics are trash, the movement slow and not very fluid, and the control isn't very good. Granted I have to have the Xbox hooked up to my monitor through composite so none of the games look as good as a TV but sitting further away it's not too much different. I guess NHL 2k6 just doesn't have very good graphics to begin with, regardless if I had a TV to play on.
