I try to avoid the use of "We" and other such statements, but it's such a common usage that it still is stated at times.

I hope you go to the superbowl so we can get revenge on Peyton Manning when he beat us in the 2006 superbowl. I was so sad when we lost. It will be a great rematch if we get you in the superbowl though.

Happy?

You should see how crazy people are around here for college sports. I think they take that shit way too seriously. Who cares if you went to the college? To me, I look at is as their second religion.

ROLL JESUS!

It's not crazy to revere Joe Paterno. There aren't many men who could cover up child rape for 20+ years and not lose a drop of love. I wish I went to Penn State, that would be the best "we" of them all.

We got banned from bowls because we were raping children. Hah.

I'm just messin bro. You're all right in my book.

I'm not mad or anything. I think it's great that we finally are exchanging some views on this subject. Sports are such a big part of people's lives its good to know how people think about them.

Why do people do this? It's so aggravating.

"We are going to beat you guys this week" Well you aren't playing, YOU aren't doing anything, YOU will be watching the game on TV or in the stands.

Maybe the greenbay packers fans can say this IF they are a shareholder. Anybody else is just a fan and needs to shut up with the use of "WE" with sports teams.

The royal WE I have no time for . We is a word that is looosely used . Myself I am an I man . I care about the world around me . But family is my true only concern . I don't use we in that setting . I use I . and if the rest don't like they are welcome to do as they please. SELF is the most important thing in the world to me . Because when judgement comes its every man for himself there is no we. I well use a zodiac sign as example .

http://newsfeed.time.com/2011/01/13...now-about-their-new-zodiac/?iid=nfmostpopular

In this zodiac sign we see the only time a living man is used , 1 man . And he has taken hold of the snake and control over it , But its not that simple . This is the zodiac sign for 2012. I know exactly what this zodiac is all about . It was I who informed the MN society of there mistake , So the had to update the info . Which they did , This sign has been around since at least 130BC. This sign is about the ONE. There is no people in this mans life . He is in the world and he does control the great snake . THE snake is not a snake . Its symbolic for something else . It has to do with the earth thats all I will say about it . I myself stand with the ONE there is no we.Since this is a sports thread ./ The MN vikings lost last 3 games . @ of those games were lost by the QB and the coach for not removing that 1 player , Web looks good to me . So put him in , WE viking fans have differant opinions therefore WE is not collective. Just a misuse of a word.

Complaining about people saying "we" is silly. Saying "we" is just a shorthand way of saying "the team, which is the team that I support".

There is no ambiguity about what is meant; it is obvious that the fan doesn't think he plays for the team. Attacking someone for saying "we" is usually just a defense mechanism used when you have no rebuttal for something that was said to you.

If one were to attack them, then yes I suppose that could be true. I don't attack people when they say we, I just find it odd.

First time you mention the team - The Broncos

Every time thereafter, it is just as quick to say they vs we. It's two extra letters, but to pronounce in conversation takes the same amount of effort.

I grew up in Pennsylvania, and I couldn't care less about Penn State. :p

about the only time it is acceptable to use we would be in dome stadium football games where crowd noise can drown out audibles and snap count. in that particular case the fan in the stands is doing something non trivial.

I always say we; when you become emotionally invested in a team I do not think it is unusual to do so.

Would you say, did you hear how loud we were? If so then you are just talking about the fans in the stadiums, which you were a part of.

If a fan who watched the game, then said to another fan who was at the game, did you hear how loud we were? The fan who was at the game has every right to be irked at the quirk.

QUOTE=momeNt;34215975]Thanks for that, I'll probably sleep with the light on now. You scare me :([/QUOTE]

I am scary . LOL . Lets take democrates. A repulsive that was running for senate made a statement about rape victims that has no base of truth to it . He lost as he should have . But dem witts used his words against all conservatives . Equally as retarded empty words as the senator used.
Dems like WE they LOVE we ,In the ROYAL WE form they are inlove withit , Liberial media feed these dem-witts. Yet 90% of all crimnals are Dem-witts . 95% are poor are dem-witts.. 20 % are white . Dems-witts are made up almost completely of the trash of the earth . They don't vote on issues , They vote on party lines only . Dem-witts are in for a shock .. Remember the4 dead americans that the repulsives won't let go of and they do have all the proof they need to impeach . We won't here another word about it . PURE blackmail . Obama didn't recieve a mandate . 10 states put obama in office . The rest of america get it now The Dem-witt states that contain 90% of the trash elect presidents . The other 40 states are along for the ride. Obame is going to make a deal . to tax the rich at the expense of the poor . That right entitlements is being offered up as cuts. Cut welfare all together.
I kinda see were poor non whites have a grip . But a healthy white man on welfare is a poor excuse of a human being . Lazy ass is all he is . Depending on the times that is . But its like me and wife were discussing Welfare is startting to look like a good alternet to being useful and productive . That 5 million dollars that obama could have given to any charity he choose just for showing his papers . and him refusing says alot about him . If he has nothing to hide . There are people who could use that money for good. Dem-witts can't see this truth because they are indeed dem-wit and a collective and use the we word to cover up all their short comings .

This works until you are talking about two or more teams. E.g. suppose the Broncos played the Giants. You are talking about a series of plays. Either you have to constantly say "The Giants" or "The Broncos" to reference them or you can say "we" and "they" as a shorthand. I prefer not to say "we" but, as I posted, I find it likely that I have done so because it is a convenient shortened way of referring to teams.

It gets even more crazy if you are talking about an entire division.
