Sporting Event Tickets

I haven't been to a sporting event (in which I wasn't given tickets for free) in many years. Now I have a need to buy some Washington Capitals tickets. Their website sends you to ticket master, which gives you the most expensive ticket it can find, plus racks up a 9 dollar /ticket "convenience fee", plus a $5 printing charge for printing them yourself. What is the best place to get tickets, besides fleaBay?

This.

Bought tickets to a Yankees game in May and it was an easy, painless transaction.

If you define paying way over face as painless, stubhub will make you feel like you have a morphine drip from a fire hydrant.

I didn't pay much more and the game was sold out already anyway, so I didn't mind paying a small premium (it was small).

I recall buying Slayer/Pantera tickets from ticketmaster.com. Ended up in the absolute very last row on the upper deck. Turns out every single person on the upper deck bought from ticketmaster.com. Those that bought direct from the venue not only got lower deck tickets, but also a shot at pit tickets, and the price was 30% less than the total that I paid.

Ticketmaster blows.
