sport team colors...

Growing up playing soccer, it seemed the most winning teams were always blue/white or red/white. yellow/white, green/white and solid white were average and off color teams like brown, purple, orange, solid yellow, etc were always the worst....black was a polarizing color. They were either the best, or the worst and never in-between.

Anyone else ever observe something like this? How 'bout your sport?

edit: I really only refer to kid's rec/club teams. Pro and national colors don't seem to matter much.

My siblings' soccer teams had red/white, but didn't seem to ever win much of anything. In the last basketball league in which I played, everybody had white/blue reversible jerseys, so the blue/white team won every time!

Also, you could just make a case for statistics here.

Indeed, it wouldn't be hard to throw some number around to say anything I wanted. I'm sure it is all in my head...*sigh* cheers to craziness. :(
