Another spoiler question. Who was that woman dressed in the nurse uniform at the end when we find out that Xavier is still alive?

Yeah, I was disappointed with it as well.
Those who know the comics and/or the cartoon will be disappointed at how poorly utilized Jean Grey is in this movie. She's the freakin' Phoenix and they don't do anything with her throughout the movie. Those who don't have any X-men background will see the whole Phoenix bit as a way cheesey way to bring back the babe from the first two movies - they basically explain everything in a two-liner.
They build up the love triangle thing for Cyclops, Jean and Wolverine, then kills Cyclops in the beginning of the movie as if he were a stand-in. Then the "romance" develops between Jean and Wolverine. Kinda makes the whole "she chose you" line (Wolverine to Cyclops, regarding Jean) in the second movie worthless.
Not to mention the declawing of Mystique, one of the cooler characters in the first two movies. And the poor and inconsequential use of the Pyro sub-plot from the second movie. And what was the point of the Angel (Archangel?) and Beast in the movie at all?
Whoops! Sorry for using the thread to gripe about the film. Yes, Phoenix joins Magneto because he convinced her that Xavier is holding her back. She, in turn, does nothing throughout the rest of the movie until she disintegrates everything at the end.

Pheonix was planned for quite a while, you know for sure it's going to happen since X2 (you see the phoenix symbol in the water at the end) and they even hint at Jean's massive potential in the first movie. I?ll explain later why her lack of use isn?t such a bad thing.Originally posted by: ghostman

Wolverine has pretty much always been in love with Jean since I've been following the X-Men, killing of Cyclops is fine (he's a tool in the movies), especially when he ran off to do the Superman movie (and he isn't even Superman). And it obviously isn't Jean who chose Wolverine, it was Phoenix - Jean's "dark side" who is more compatible with Wolverine for fairly obvious reasons (his charm reall comes out in this movie, really taking off from X2)They build up the love triangle thing for Cyclops, Jean and Wolverine, then kills Cyclops in the beginning of the movie as if he were a stand-in. Yeah, so many mutants, so little time - you're basically giving most of them cameo roles with such little time. However Magneto gets his powers back at the end - its pretty obvious to infer the other "cured" mutants will get their powers back in time as well...including Mystique and Rogue. Not to mention the declawing of Mystique, one of the cooler characters in the first two movies. I'll agree that it sucks they don't show her kicking more ass like the character has done in past media - however the movies don't kid around with the powers, Phoenix?s powers really did make her a god even among other extremely powerful mutants - she'd be bowling over everyone worse than Superman with such limitless power. If you actually watched the movie and actually thought about it, she'd have been boring to watch owning everything without a fight (yes, Wolverine owns a lot of people during his fights, but you actually see him fight, in other words he has to actually put forth effort to succeed, and thus it is entertaining)Whoops! And the only reason Wolverine was able to beat her was because Jean still had some control over Phoenix (or at least the Phoenix wasn?t completely heartless) and the love for Wolverine allowed for Jean/Phoenix to let Wolverine end it all. Yes, his abilities and skeleton allowed him to survive the chaos, however you could tell she wasn?t actively trying to kill him or defend herself from his possible attack and was clearly her decisions to let him do it in the end.
The only thing I really found disappointing about the movie was the lack of running time ? which would have cured a lot of ails such as poor character development with those such as Angel and Beast ? however the movie was pretty much on target the entire way through, and the cliff hangers are right up their with the best of them (LOST for example), I?m definitely pumped for the Wolverine and Magneto movies (and I?m also hoping that we?ll get other X-Men related movies if this really is the last X-Men movie)

I agree, they really should've made a longer movie...it could've given them time to develop a deeper plot and possibly bring in Gambit!![]()

What's this about Wolverine and Magneto movies?? Is that for real or just speculation?
I thought X3 was pretty good overall, but of course could have used a bit more time to flesh things out...
