Spoiled by Amazon Prime shipping

This seems out of line to me. Why do you need to comment on the guy's son?

I don't see a single thing wrong with an 8 year old having an iPod Touch. How does that make him spoiled?

Well that escalated quickly. I'm not sure I'd be as civil as MotionMan if someone was saying that stuff about my son.

Yet, I have been accused of having a thin skin. However, people with kids (and some without) seem to understand. Thanks.

your 8 yr old has an iPod Touch? gee i wonder if he's spoiled too?

Didn't have Gameboys or anything growing up? Basically the same thing for current generations. Unless he also has a Vita or whatever the latest Gameboy is called.
Or a Walkman or any portable media player? They can get more functions out of less gadgets. Back at that age, I had portable music, whatever gameboy was out at the time, etc.

LOL - He chose the cover and even agreed to wait for it as long as it took. This was while we were at the mall and had looked at 20+ covers he could have had immediately, including a few he really liked. He asked to check Amazon for a 49ers cover. How many 8-year-olds have that kind of patience and maturity.

It must be in his blood since he is a 4th generation 49ers fan.

(BTW, he has a friend whose father is a Lions fan and buys the kid Lions gear - but he loves wear my son's 49ers helmet when he comes over to play.)

lol, I always think to myself if I ever get a kid, I am going to make him a Jets/Mets fan, just so I can gloat about how much better the Giants/Yankees are on a daily basis.

You and the fans need to learn the difference between expressing a problem with what a person said, and over the top behavior.

To put it another way:

OK, you sub-human reverse evolution insectoid 4-fingered blob of toilet grime, if you don't learn to post better, I'll have ninjas come and torture you! Hope you 'understand'.

Sometimes - not quite saying it's you - some parents seem to use kids as human shields to justify their own bad behavior.

'Ya, sure, it may seem like criminally unrestrained rage, but it was about my kid.'

I wonder what Amazon does if you notify them of that. I never get things late, though.

At least in my experience, Amazon seems to care if it's next-day delivery... especially since you're paying extra (over top of the $79) for that. When I ordered my Transformer TF300 + Dock, I specified next-day because it was Thursday and I wanted it for the weekend ( much more fun to tinker over the weekend ). I normally watch UPS/FedEx tracking like a hawk, and was a bit dismayed to see that UPS's plane had a malfunction and it was delayed in Texas for a few hours.

That event seemed to offset the delivery time for enough that it wasn't going to come to me on Friday. My only question was whether UPS would attempt to make up for it by delivering it on Saturday (both UPS and FedEx have Saturday delivery). I spoke with Amazon's customer service, and they eventually got back to me stating that UPS would attempt to deliver it on Saturday (and they did). I didn't notice it at first, but Amazon noticed the tracking anomaly prior to me contacting them and already issued a refund on my next-day charges.

If I didn't get the item on time with two-day and it was something that I really wanted, then I would probably complain a bit. However, it's usually been the more menial items.

I have packages coming almost weekly to my office, mostly Amazon Prime. I have an Overnight bag for my wife coming tomorrow actually. I am also watching all the old Doctor Who episodes for free through Prime which is another benefit.

It is coming on a slow boat from China.

I ordered a auto charger for daughter's iPhone. 4-5 week shipping time.

I LOVE PRIME... I'm just sad that Amazon will be charging tax in KAAALLLLIFORNIAAAA soon. 🙁

And as a Californian, I'm glad.

It's about time the retail stores stop having Amazon get an unfair advantage.

And, the state government badly needs sales tax to be paid.

It's always been owed on income taxes, but it's been a tax on honesty. 90%+ don't pay.

last week i bought a 5-pack of right angle coax connectors... there were several similarly priced options on amazon, free shipping for all, coming from hong kong. there was one for 5 cents more shipping from california. i went with that one, and got the connectors 2 days later.

you only need pay if your purchases online total more than something absurd like $5000 per year. for most people, they need not pay.

EDIT: and i agree with amazon's position that there should have been a national means of enforcing sales tax so that all sellers are on an even playing field.

Can you provide evidence to support that?

It's not my understanding. And it's not how Intuit's tax program calculates it I think.

I thought each state was different?

My state refund asks me if I've bought more than $X in the past 12 months. I say no and we move on.

OP:

I usually pop the extra couple dollars for overnight shipping. Makes me feel like a baller.

Screw you. You don't know a damn thing about my son and I would put him up against any kid his age as far as his courtesy, appreciativeness and manners.

He earned his Touch, you ignorant idiot.

MotionMan

mine got his (64 gig version) on his 4th birthday. No big deal, we just got money to burn. It's not like a freaking Ferrari so I dont know what the big deal is 😎

It was not an option.

MotionMan

gotcha..In my experience, most sellers on Amazon ship out via USPS the day after you order. I have yet to wait more than a week for anything.

Kohls.com on the other hand...I ordered a couple shirts 2 weeks ago and still no sign of those things.
