splitting the screen

Anyone know whether there's any way to split a high res screen into multiple desktops in WinXP?

I basically want some easy way to maximize applications into part of the screen instead of trying to drag around the edges of windows manually.

Thanks.

Nothing that I'm aware of can do that, but there's always the option of running multiple virtual desktops. There's software out that will do that for you, just google for "virtual desktop".

My favorite virtual desktop application. Very small and lightweight. Btw, more such apps can be found at tinyapps.org.

I remember there was a tool that I use to use few years back that split the screen into 4. Don't remember if it was 800x600 thou.

Its starts with a K. Kalescope or something to that effect.

Thanks for the suggestion but I haven't had much luck searching "Kaleidoscope" on google. I keep getting these wierd results for tube like thingies w/ mirrors inside them...

Alright, if there's no prog that does the multidesktop thing, how about one that snaps the window edges to a grid? Or snaps it to the edge of the screen and the edge of other windows?
