Splitting cable line and sharing TV with cable modem...

I just split the line to my cable modem and am now running my TV on it too. I dont really notice much of a speed difference and my speed test at BBR.com seems around the same (3.2mbps, never really reach that cox cable claimed 4mbps anyway).
So theoretically should splitting my line slow down my cable internet speeds?
 
no. the only problems aris when splitting is the strength. If it falls below threshold then you generaly lose all ability to talk over it.
