Split screen monitor

Are there any programs to split the screen in different sections? I want to have a game take up half the screen and maybe a movie in the other half. I can't just window the game because for some it doesn't run in windowed mode and others lag too much.

Simplistically, most high end games bypass the OS to do direct screen writes (to lower overhead), so the OS has no control over what's displayed where.

Whether a game can be "windowed" depends on the code the game's programmers wrote.
Some can be, some can't.

Get another monitor. There is no software that does pip or pbp if that's what you're talking about.
