Manning and Mcnair with Brady third.

The class of the NFL lies in the AFC. Top 6 NFL MVP vote geters. Jamal Lewis' 2,000 yds. LaDanian Tomlinsons 100 catches.

But will they win the Super Bowl?
 
I'd say Jamal Lewis is definately the MVP. If Baltimore didn't have him...they have no offense whatsoever.
 
At first I was surprised to see the split MVP ... but McNair and Manning are both very deserving. New England is looking very good to win the SuperBowl but watch our for the Packers - Favre works magic on the field. I definitely think Green Bay will beat Seattle this week. Then after that, anything can happen.

I don't agree with the spilt MVP at all. Of course I said earlier Jamal deserved it, but in the case of this "split mvp", Manning should be it. McNairs numbers aren't all that great, Mannings team beat his team twice, he hasn't played in the last couple of games...I don't know how to explain this fallacy. I'm not upset Jamal didn't get it, I can understand Mannings case, but I don't understand why McNair should be awarded with an MVP.
 
Why does McNair deserve MVP? Look at it this way. The Titans O is NOTHING without Steve. Eddie George has done dick-all this year and they don't have any big play guys or any stars. This is also why I was surprised Jamal didn't get more first place votes for MVP. The Ravens offense is total crap. They have no passing attack at all.

McNair and Lewis both get my respect because they do their thing on one dimensional offenses. True, McNair didn't have big numbers but most of the time he got the job done. You do have a point that they lost to the Colts twice however. Having said that, it isn't a huge surprise to see Manning get such huge recognition because he has had a tremendous season.

The Titans did win a couple games without McNair, though. They have decent WR's, a great TE, and Eddie George isn't terrible. He's a great short-yardage RB. You could use the same argument with Peyton. The Edge hasn't done crap all this year. Peyton is good at spreading the wealth, and getting the ball to ANYONE, not just Marvin 😉 Hands down, Manning beats McNair.
 
If you go on whos team had a great year with the least talent, then Brady is the hands down winner. Unfortunately the media hypes players throughout the year and that usually is where the voting ends up. A case can be made for the top 4 vote geters this year. At least a split takes care of 2 of them and only leaves the other 2 out.

Puh-leaze. New Englands success has been their defense. Brady's numbers haven't been all that great, although he does lead a mean 2 minute drill. I'm not trying to downplay his ability, but New England has won games as a team, not on the ability of one player.

Im just making a case for Brady, I dont have a problem with who won. I do ,however, think your reply is a bit cliched. Everyone wins as a team. Offensively tho, Brady had less tools at his disposal. Having Harrison, James, and a kicker that never missed the entire season had a lot to do with Indy being successful. I dont believe it was just Manning. McNair had only a slight bit more tools then Brady so I could have seen them 2 splitting the award.

hey, Im a Chargers fan so I think Tomlinson should have won and been starter in the pro bwol, but Im biased and they only won 4 games.

Cliched yes, but I try to scrutinize the numbers, and the value of the player. Seeing as the Titans won 2 games without McNair, I question how valuable he really is to the team. I also see that Peyton had the better numbers of the 2 (and better than Brady). Like I said before though, I think Jamal Lewis should have won it hands down. I also agree with your LT statement. He did much more than Clinton Portis this year, with much less help. Should have been Jamal, Priest, and LT in the pro bowl.

And yet 3 other offensive players were voted ahead of him for MVP? Just shows you how much sense voters make.

Just because you're the top offensive player ... doesn't make you the most valuable to your team. Although, I agree Lewis maybe should have been the MVP.
