Split Hot Deals forum in two?

I have been reading--and loving--the Hot Deals forum for about 18 months now. I have used it countless times to find incredible deals on computer stuff. (I have tried religiously to contribute, but whenever I think I have a hot deal to post,
it's already here....Some of you guys are incredible!)

Over time, however, I have noticed a greater and greater percentage of the posts being for deals on tee-shirts, gas, free meals at the local diner....whatever. But I really enjoy the forum for great deals on computer stuff, and it's getting harder and harder to wade through the other crap.

Am I alone on this? Would others like to see the Hot Deals forum restricted
to computer related deals and/or another forum created for non-computer related
deals?

I think we should have one forum for items $20 or less, including ANY size diner coupons theme passes etc. as well as FREEBIES, and one for computer stuff (Hot deals forum).

Or you could just about have one Staples Hot Deal Forum and One for all the rest

I am not a big fan of the deals where you have to price match with other stores. Rebates are bad enough, but then having to price match on top of that...

I do think that there should be a separate hot deals forum for non-computer deals.

Optimist I have to agreed with you on that. But there is ALOT more than needs to be done with the HOT DEALS forum. Been thinking of making a post about this for the last two weeks or so. What got the thinking cap going was when I went page by page reading and checking every post. The LAST post in forum had one of the best HOT deal I have seen for that time period. OM deal with 400.00 free stuff with XP. One more Tshirt etc....that would have been history. Glad I found it and got in on it. Link posted below. I found it on the 7th take notice of 24 posts AFTER I bumped to first page by posting on the 7th. I wonder how many more got in on the deal also but did not post in thread.

I think that both the hot deals and the for sale sections should be split up. I don't know if it's possible to do, but being able to go into subclasses after going into either of those two sections (kinda like ebay but not as specific). At least split the hot deals into "computer" and "other". It's just easier to read

I've made that arguement here before.

I also agree that Hot Deals should be limited to computer hardware (and possibly software).

I don't thnk the forums should be limited to ONLY computer items. But I do think it'd be a good idea to have them in their own forum. It'd be real nice to have a Hot Deas - Computer Items Only and a Hot Deals - All Other Items forums for people that are only looking for Computer items. Not a huge deal since *most* people have subject lines that make sense, but it'd save the pages and pages of things to look through if I miss a day or two.

perhaps there's a way that the originator of the thread/post could delete/lock the thread? This way FS/FT/WTB/etc. threads could be locked after something is sold.

my thoughts are have 1 for free stuff and 1 fot hot deals and u could go fruther to add 1 for bb, staples, crapusa, om and od all in 1
