split backplane, removable drive bay cases

I am looking for a server case with split back plane and removable drive bays to use with a raid card and hot swappable drives. Anyone know where I an find them. looking to biuld a raid 5 ultra 160 system with 6 drives. Dual athlons.

try fleabay for a used Compaq, Dell or IBM case....I'm not sure why you want the split back-plane...

Some of these servers have what you're looking for, and you can rip out the OEM mobo, and put yours in. Add a new PSU, and you should be all set. BTW, the mobo's on the older ones were non-standard size, so an ATX board may, or may not, fit. Get pics. 🙂

how else would I get hot swappablility for hard drives?

I am looking for new case, redundant power, lots of fans

or try this: Server cases...4 hot-swap f/w bays in the case.

or this: Hot-swap drive cage only
I just got one just like this...still need to get a PSU and a pair of fans for it. Then I need to build a case around it, since I just want it for HDs, not for a mobo.
