Is that the Advent 20" Flat Screen from Best Buy? If so, I just picked up one to replace an old 19" that was getting flaky on me. The last straw was when the picture went out for about 30 seconds while playing MechAssault.

So far I am impressed with the picture. I also picked up the $49 Mintek DVD player for my son to watch DVDs on. If anyone is interested in buying this TV, I noticed after I had purchased mine that it is $189 on the website, but $199 in the store. Save $10 by ordering with in store pickup.

I was looking at the Advent TV at BestBuy and I thought the picture looked a little fuzzy. Was a good deal for $199 though...even better for $189.

Sears has a Salvanyia 20" TV for $150 here
I'm thinking about picking it up tomorrow...

the one in the best buy here looked fuzzy until he switched it to a direct source instead of the instore adverts (which apparently is fuzzy). then it cleared up. and i'm expecting after i get it calibrated with my home theater disc it should look even better. the fact it's a flat screen for 199 tho is pretty nice. the toshiba 20" flat is 279 and the sony is 299 i believe.

And those things look sweet even with the "fuzzy instore adverts"

Couldn't fork over $300 for a 20" TV though

i wasn't really impressed with those either with the fuzzy store ads, but you're right, they are sweet looking tvs. i have a tosh 50" that i dearly love.

Have you seen MGS2 on PS2? I Played both games including the Xbox splinter cell demo but I was wondering how the graphics compare, since I was only playing splinter cell through composite at the time and have not tried since I got the component video going.

According to IGN, "Splinter Cell makes MGS2 look like Pac Man".

Sounds like a great game. If anyone is interested in trading after they've beaten it, I have Hitman 2 to trade. There is nothing more fun than strangling someone, then taking their clothes and going into places you could have never gone before. Hitman 2 is strategy at it's best.

man, Splinter Cell is gonna ruin my life just like MGS2 ruined mine a year or two ago.
I woke up at 4 and planned to go to work at around 6, but end up playing that game till like 9.30.

The DEMO disc just ruin the game man. I wasn't at all excited by the DEMO but the real game rocks. They should have never come out with the demo.

Yeah, I agree. I guess they just didn't want to give away the better parts of the game though.

This game owns on multiple levels. I can see myself playing it through quite a few times with different difficulties and different strategies. Maybe try it aggressively one time (kill as many as possible) and another time try to get through the game without killing a single person.

This. Game. Owns.

I bought the game today (hadn't played it before).

Definitely better than Halo single's player mode. Definitely one of, if not THE, best game I've ever played. On top of that, the graphics are simply gorgeous.

On a side note, my cousin came over today and brought his Gamecube w/Metroid Prime. The game is nice, and fun, but I wouldn't buy the GameCube just to play that game. I kinda have fond memories of 2D metroid though, so my opinion may be a little biased because of that. :)

The best part is how it's so challenging and how there's so many ways around each goal.
I made it most of the way through the CIA level before I realized I had set off too many alarms and i was screwed.
I started the mission over and blazed through it using almost no ammo. It was a wonderful feeling of accomplishment. :)

Its really tense when you are told one more alarm and the missions being pulled and you have to do it or you dont advance.
