splinter cell demo is out at fileshack

WOW didnt even know it was coming out for PC. I thought it was a Xbox only deal. Anyway I been playing it on Xbox and am about halfway through the game(CIA mission). It is a awsome game.

Does anyone know when the PC release date is? I am guessing it might be out or is about a month or a little longer off(am clueless)?
 
I downloaded it through 3dgamers-- it won't even begin to install. Running the exe file does absolutely nothing. I know I sound like a moron here, but something is definately wrong with the file I downloaded. Kind of a disappointment, now I'll have to redownload the whole thing. Anyone else have this problem?

Edit: Am I missing something here? I just redownloaded the same file, only to have the same result.

Second Edit: Looks like the file size is wrong...
 
I d/led from 3dgamer and it installs fine but for some reason when I load the game it takes me back to windows XP desktop but the game is still runnning.

Havent checked for a new version of drivers for Radeon in a while I think I will do so now.

I just downloaded the file for the third time, this time through fileshack. It seemed to install correctly, but when I actually started up the game I got the following message:

General protection fault!

History: ResetDevice <- UD3DRenderDevice::SetRes <- UWindowsViewport::Exec

Awesome.

My wife has the X-box version sitting under our X mas tree.

I guess I will be returning it since I would much rather play this in my PC.

Hopefully by the time it comes out for PC I would have bought my 9700 (wishfull thinking)
 
The game also has a severe Vsync problem. It wont play full screen on my monitor. Anyone knows how to remedy this? I have a GF4 MX440 with the 41.09 drivers installed.

:Q it plays full screen on my gf2mx200 same drivers

it is a tad slow but works fine no tearing,so it ought to work for you.

try different drivers maybe?
 
They have a lot of work to go before it gets as good as the X-Box version. Hopefully they have time to fix it before release. Crashes, worse controls, worse graphics and sounds. Hopefully these are smaller textures just for the demo. It doesn't look as good.
 
worked fine for me with 8500 2.5cats

Umm is there anyway it's going to be 1st person, instead of 3rd, or did I just not change that?

Other than that graphics looked good, not too keen on third person shooters though, max paine was fine....
 
its doing the same .. its on win98..
ill try it on xp and see what happens.
both has 41.07 driver on it
