Ignoring the fanboy fights, where is PS 2.0 support? This whole thing smell, thank God I hate SC games.

it was explained in the fanboy fights why ps2 is not present.

but when you graduate from n00b-world.. you'll realize how hard sh!tty ATI's hardware was until they bought out ArtX's R300.

Although some of the former Art-X team worked on the R300, it was developed at/by ATi. This has been stated by the company in several interviews. The R300 architecture was not developed at Art-X. The lack of PS2.0 support is a slight to all owners of R300/FX series cards. It is widely accepted that all of the features present in PS3.0 with regards to image quality can be replicated in PS2.0, only sometimes with an extra pass or two.

u do realize the shift of power in ATI went from canada to california when they bought artX right?
always running south of the border to get real talent... 😀

and it doesnt matter if R300 was finished after ATI took over or not.
it is still the ArtX team's creation, nearly entirely. Crappy old ATI never had anything to do with it or the Flipper deal.

I'm saying that while the people and reorganization (that was mostly due to Dave Orton from ArtX) that came from Canadians buying out an American company was a great decision for them..

it was more of a takeover of ATI by ArtX in practice! 😀 😀

It was a good deal, the ArtX takeover.. certainly a boon to your canadian gods to the north (that arent QUITE as godly as you wish them to be, they got their butts kicked out of the integrated market by Intel, and NV was handing them their arse. I think there is too much ATI in ATI and that ArtX team can't fix that company forever)

Dude......this thread is about a game.....not your bigotry toward Canada. Take your bigoted fanboyism to PM for everyone's sanity, thx

I dont know how many of you have this game, but SM1.1 has some seriously bad banding effects, look at otis's deck comparison ull see slightl banding there on the deck, but if you play the game its much more noticeable.

i know Ati had pretty much nothing to do with the gamecubes gpu, yet i find their sticker in the bottom right corner on my brothers cube.

but thats not the topic of the thread sadly

but suprisingly Switching to SM1.1 gives zero performance boost.

in SM1.1 i still get 20-30 fps in the same areas, so im sticking with SM3 for now, might as well have the better quality for the same price

I found that odd too. I mean I was expecting SM1.1 to cost less in performance than SM3.0 due to the smaller pixel and vertex instruction set SM1.1 has( in my knowledge SM3.0 supposed to be only faster than SM2.0 not 1.1).Is that normal?
But seeing these benchmarks at Firisquad I was surprised to see that SM3.0 was supposed to be much faster than SM1.1 and they were dissapointed by the SM3.0 perf increase which they found too low!! How can a much lower PS/VS instruction set, that SM1.1 has, be slower than SM3.0 which should have much higher shadow complexity? I mean I can understand that SM3.0 can offer greater flexibility in shadow routines but SM1.1 shouldn't be even comparable with SM2.0-3.0 .
WTF?? 😕

Anyway the game has a very bad engine IMO,even though it seems that it doesn't require the fastest action possible. Looking at these numbers I wonder what frames will low end cards have...

bigotry?

lol what do i sound like i wear a white hood?

funny, these days people who dislike poor english are considered "racist"
and those who point out canadians running south to grab yankees to do the real work is bigotry..

it is true, ArtX pretty much took over and restructured ATI.. they went from zero to hero.
orton turned that entire failing company around

its not bigotry to give us Americans our due. We're talented, and we work the hardest.. so what? Whats your problem
