Got the xbox demo and the demo level is awesome. Great graphics and gameplay. This one is going to be a HUGE title. Add in the online support for future downloads and you have your next AAA title for xbox (pc version).

For those wondering the demo's are now available at EB's and Toys R Us.

Also posting this to the BIG LIST - Xbox Deals thread.

Thanks again!

Cool, also if you pick it up at TRU and save the cardboard packaging you get 5 off when you purchase the full version.

It is free

Argh ... frickin' demo-tease ... I was here expecting a sudden PC download of Splinter Cell and another reason to stay up late. :D

Now I gotta walk my arse down there to get it?

Okay, stil worth it. :D Played the demo awhile ago at EB. Nice. I'd like to own it just for the fun.

Even though its only about 15-20 minutes worth of gameplay you'll probably end up playing it 10 times before it comes out, its that good. :D

No demo at my local TRU. :|
And of course the staff was clueless.

They hadn't even HEARD of Splinter Cell, nor was it even listed anywhere as an "upcoming releases" GRRRR

Where in the store were the demos located when you picked one up?

OK, so what is the 'R Zone' in a TRU?

Sorry so dense. I'm just imitating the salesdroids at my local B&M.

Sorry, one more dumb@ss question (so I can be fully prepared for the dumb@sses ;)):

My B&M has an area toward the back (close to the boardgames) where the pull tags are displayed for all the different games, and some hardware behind glass.
But the consoles are actually locked up at the front of the store, near the registers (to deter theft, obviously).
The front area is the ONLY place where there is anything even remotely resembling a counter.

So which of these best describes where you got the demo?

thanks muchly!

Sounds like an older store. Go to where they store the games and ask them there about an xbox demo disk if they dont know it by name

Top Ten Things I Love About the Splinter Cell Demo

10. Guns don't kill people...Sam Fisher kills people :D
9. Lightbulbs make nice tinkly sounds when a bullet passes though them.
8. Mindless goons make nice crumple-to-the-floor sounds after a bullet or two passes through them.
7. Interrogation is to foreplay as smashing a pistol butt into someone's temple is to sex.
6. All those PCs and not one has CS loaded (actually, that requires too much suspension of disbelief for me)
5. Mmmmmm...fiber optic camera. No wait...nightvision goggles. No wait...infrared goggles.
4. Lightbulb manufacturers rejoice! Somebody's gonna need a BUNCH of replacements real soon...
3. Mindless goons rejoice! Somebody's gonna be hiring a BUNCH of you real soon...
2. Sam Fisher is even more of a John Doe name than, well...John Doe!

and finally...
1. Running through curtains never felt--or looked--so good before.

OXM came yesterday, played through the demo this morning. Think I'll play through it one more time now that I have the controls down.

I'm playing the demo right now ... is there a way to knock enemies out without killing them? I'd like to take down a civilian without killing him, but I'm not sure if this is possible. In the videos I've seen, Sam is able to sneak up and knock a person out with his gun. (or snap their neck?!)
