Splenda- What do you buy with it?

I love splenda. It tastes just like real sugar, but without the carbs. The only problem is finding things that contain it.

I buy diet rite sodas, and some low carb ice creams, but what else is good that contains splenda?

I generally juse use it as a sweetener from packets. It's good stuff, but diet rite when I bought a case is some nasty sh*t. It's got an aftertaste which says to me that my stomach lining and/or esophagus is going to melt. Pepsi one is the tastiest diet drink.

I wouldn't say it tastes just like sugar though. It's definitely better than the alternatives though.

Splenda is like frozen yoghurt. People who eat it swear it tastes "JUST LIKE THE REAL THING!" even though it is nasty sh!t in comparison to the "real thing"

Yes, DEFINITELY not the same as sugar. I made the mistake of using it when I made a cappuccino at home, and I could barely bring myself to finish it. I guess it works best in smaller doses, like when my GF uses it in her iced tea.

It nowhere near the same as sugar, but I do get Light 85 Yogurt with Splenda in it. I can't eat most light yougurts, because aspartame gives me a killer stomach ache.

It's much closer to natural suger in taste than aspartame or saccharin... those are crap.

I don't cook with it or search out products made with Splenda but I use it in my tea (hot and cold), coffee, and Kool Aid.

I've also heard it's more healthy in the long run as oppose to the other substitutes.

As someone who can't stand the taste of aspartame and can barely tolerate Saccarin I cannot taste the difference between it and real sugar if it's been mixed into something properly. In a blind taste test I doubt many of you would either.

I say mixed properly because it's sweeter than sugar and if you don't disolve it thoroughly into something that extra sweetness per grain would tip you off that it's not sugar. In fact splenda is sugar, it's a sucrose molecue with the center carbon replaced by a chlorine atom, your body is incapable of splitting the molecue so it passes through undigested.

It is made from sugar, buy by God it doesn't taste as good. Diet Rite DOES have an aftertaste. It's nowhere near as good as a regular cola. Real sugar is sweet through and through!

I haven't tried Diet Rite but let me offer something out there for you: It may be the soda and not the splenda. When C2 comes out (coke that is sweetened by 1/2 splenda) try it and see if you can tell the difference between it and classic (do a blind taste test if you can). I doubt you will be able to. Remember soda is more than sugar, there are flavorings and if the flavorings are nasty the sugar or lack thereof isn't going to make a difference.

First, I do like sugar-free (Splenda-sweetened) italian soda syrups. Adding them to a little bit of half-and-half, club soda, and a spoon of Ovaltine (carbs... I know, I know) makes a very satisfying drink.

Diet Rite cola does take some getting used to. I prefer the raspberry and orange flavors myself.

And I don't really "get" what Coke is up to with this C2 stuff. Just make a Splenda version of Diet Coke!

I'm really glad you like it, but it does NOT taste just like sugar. As I said, I think it is much better than aspartame or saccharin. But I can definitely tell the difference between putting sugar in my coffee and putting Splenda (sucralose) in my coffee. It does have an aftertaste that sugar does not have.
