What I find funny is people who load up on carb heavy foods, but are wary about having a teaspoon of sugar in their coffee or tea.
Cane sugar (I like pure brown sugar...used to chew on sugar cane, too) is best sweetener, though other natural sweeteners (honey, molasses) are appropriate for certain recipes.

That said, I like the taste of Splenda over the other artificial sweeteners. I avoid all artificial sweeteners when possible, though.

What's wrong with Splenda? Would you rather eat aspartame or sodium saccharin?

If the difference between being healthy and not healthy is a teaspoon of sugar a day, I think they have larger problems to fix.

I'm with you on this.

Personally, I'll take my chances with the 60 calories in a sugar packet vs the artificial concoction in the equal packet. It's not much.

In my coffee, 1 or 2 sugars is fine. If I'm going to have a soda, though, I'll take the diet version because there really are a lot of calories in the 20oz bottle that I'm buying. I don't want half my meal going to that.

My daughter has diabetes, and I give her real sugar instead of the artificial garbage. It's better to have a little bit of something delicious, than all you want of mediocrity.

I prefer Splenda to any other artificial sweetener.. like it more than real sugar too, in my coffee anyways.

I can't drink a diet soda that doesn't use Splenda either.. just tastes horrible.

I actually prefer splenda to sugar in my coffee... i have no idea why. i think it's the laziness of opening 2 packets of sugar vs half of a splenda, heh. i've used stevia, too, and not bad, but man is that stuff expensive.

my preference is honey, though. I was told about beefolks.com and have been buying their killer bee honey =) It's very waxy though. The southern belle honey is more syrupy and easier to mix and works well w/ coffee too.
