spin down times

Hi,

I just got a new computer, with a Lite-on 48x CD-ROM and the thing spins down every 20 seconds or something! Its damned annoying, because if it it happens to spin down at the wrong time my computer crashes... can somebody help me out with changing it? I am using Win2k, so I'm not sure SpinDown works with it.

I dont think there is a way to change it. Toshiba makes a utility for their drives called CoolLittleTool that lets you change the spindown times, but I dont think it will work with other manufacturers.

If you are daring you can try it, it may or may not work with that drive

I think win 2000 has a setting somewhere to change this. I can't remember where, I'll have a quick look.
