Spikes in Voltage with ASUS PC Probe

This is a 1 week old system. ASUS PC Probe occasionally pops up with a voltage out of range indication. Sometimes +12v spikes down to +8.xx. Sometimes -12v spikes up to -8.xx, sometimes it's +5v dropping down to +3.3v. All of them are momentary and return to normal after a few seconds.
It doesn't seem to affect the operation of the computer and if I weren't looking at PC Probe I wouldn't know it. It seems to happen more when I'm using my modem.
Is this normal? The board is ASUS A7V.

This happened with my old asus p3v133 board, i think it is just the probe, might be the board though, i dunno

Iget the same spikes on my Asus P3V4X mobo ...even with the most up to date bios...I just ignore them.

I had the same problem using PC Probe 2.11. Trying downloading version 2.12 from the ASUS website. Once installed all my voltage spikes and dropoffs disappeared.

Yes, with the P3V4X. I updated the bios. Downloaded the new PCProbe and updated the drivers. Download all the updates from Asus and the new Via Drivers and that should do the trick.

I think its just the probe, or could be the monitor on the chipset, i dunno, probably something dosent work right, my new abit kt7 board is rock solid, its the board if you're lookin to upgrade

Greenhorn1 is right. The latest version 2.12 PC Probe has eliminated the voltage spike problems in most Pentium motherboards. Let us know whether it does the same for the AMD boards.

In earlier version, the spikes were often caused by using the smart fan control. If you have version 2.11 or earlier, try disable the fan control and the spike will be likely gone.
