why did peter parker reject m.j. at the end of the spiderman movie?



I must have missed something

I knew that peter likes mj, so how come he rejected her in the end?

It's because Peter didnt want to put her in danger again. His enemies will go after his loved once (like the green goblin did in this movie), so he'd rather not risk getting her in trouble.... again.

at least they treated us with 20 sec of great CGI swing action afterwards capping with him flying by an American flag.

watched it yesterday...great movie.

True. The next movie could just be 2 hours of him swinging and I'd think it better than most of the movies I pay to see in the theaters
