I was reading the books back in the 80's when they started the black outfit. Glad to see it in the films. My favorite outfit for spidey.

How can the black costume be ripped? It's not exactly a piece of cloth.

if I remember correctly, it was actually some alien thing, and his webbing was organic with it (he didn't have to have the mechanical web devices).

In the comics, the black suit was an alien symiotic being. For some reason or another, Spidey needed another suit and happened upon this (don't remember how). He tried it on and loved it. The suit responded to his thoughts, it would morph into regular clothes and I think he could even make it do other things. The suit produced webbing itself and everything, but over time he realized it was an alien being slowly becoming attached to him permanently. Eventually he was able to ditch it, then the Brock guy (bad bad criminal) found it and became one with the suit: Enter Venom. :D I love Venom and the black suit, I'm stoked :D

Which still irks me about when Spiderman first came out. Organic shooters off the bat??? Now what is so special about the black suit now? That is one of the main reasons why Spidey liked the black suit! No running out of webbage.

I think it was the Infinity War (or something like), when Thanos was going hogwild on the universe (or Earth??) and Marvel's best went at him. Spider-Man had his suit ripped up during a fight and during a reprieve he discovered that alien being in some containment field (he thought it was a rubber ball or something).
