Spider!

I think I stomped a hobo spider the other day. I see those occasionally. The one I stomped was running across my kitchen floor.
 
Venom toxicity - the bite of Orb-Weaving Spiders is of low risk (not toxic) to humans. They are a non-aggressive group of spiders. Seldom bite. Be careful not to walk into their webs at night - the fright of this spider crawling over one's face can be terrifying and may cause a heart attack, particularly to the susceptible over 40 year olds.

I killed a few hobo spiders in my old house, and ran into a few grass spiders around the outside of the house, near the foundation. They make crazy funnel webs, and you can't really see them until they crawl out. Grass spiders are scary because they move so quick and instantaneously. I poked the outside of one of their webs, and in just a small fraction of a second the spider was out and checking the web. As if it had teleported.

I've never came across a black widow or brown recluse.
 
I've seen probably all of those spiders since I live in the countryside. I see the female Black Mouse Spiders most often. Non-agressive my ass :laugh:. Their first defense is to run into their webs. But if they cant get to that they actually charge after you 😵 Creeepy suckers..

I once was out in the bass rig and looked back to see a full grown wolf spider on the back of the boat... Only thing that kept going through my mind was "Only one of us are going to be on this boat in the next 5 minutes.. I purposefully slowed down the boat a little quickly to swamp the back section 😀

We dont have many black widows. But the ones that we do see are creepy... I hate them and am glad I don't see them often.

Black House Spiders are just.. you know.. there all the time.. They are in the house as just little black buggers... I dont really care, I dont bother them, they don't bother me

The trap door spiders and the funnel webs remain outside.. They are creepy, but since I hardly ever go outside without boots or at least full leather shoes (I haven't worth sandals in at least 10 years) I dont really worry about them much.

The Orb Weaving spiders are around by the thousands in the winter during deer season. Go out to get a deer and the grass is chest high. They really like to build their webs between the stalks. Since it is always after dark you dont see the web. It's not uncommon to have 4-5 crawling on your chest in a few minutes. Not heart attack giving but very unnerving nontheless.

Our crowning achievement in my area would be our copious amounts of Banana Spiders, which happen to be the largest non tarantula spiders in North America. Leg spans of more than 5 inches easily.. And out woods are coated with them every fall. Their bite is not harmful and could be equated to nothing more than a bee sting.. but know what? I dont give a crap!! XD I hate those suckers! Their web is like steel and it almost feels like it's cutting you when your walking at night and run face first into part of their web.. Honestly.. simply seeing them freaks me out.. It's one of the few spiders around here I have no stomach for..

I get the shivers just reading your story above. I can't handle spiders at all.

Those orb weavers can be irritating.. You try to pop them off your shirt and they simply make a string of web and start their climb back up.. very persistent buggers XD... A swift wack to the chest is about the only way.. Ruint many a shirt with the little guys 🙁
