And here I thought I was the only person who didn't like 2. I didn't think it was terrible, though.THANK GOD! Spiderman 2 was terrible
They rebooted Punisher & The Hulk......The Texas Chainsaw prequel to the remake was pretty much a remake of a remake.
So this isn't so surprising that studios want to remake franchises quicker. It must have worked in the past & that's why there doing it again.
Plus this isn't the only franchise getting the boot for a re-boot.....Tomb Raider, Fantastic 4 are two that popped in my mind.....I can't recall what else.....Anyone else know of others?
Superman.
Um, where? IMDB, RT, Metacritic...any place I've looked has given 1 significantly higher ratings than 3.Spiderman 3 terrible? It's better than the first and has higher ratings than it as well.
The black suit story was supposed to be epic and have Peter dance on the edge of becoming evil...certainly not emo...
Even though I still enjoyed Spiderman 3, it was an abomination compared to what it could have been.
Some things are better left in comic books or in a cartoon, squeezing the Venom suit into a 2.5 hour live action flick really is a dumb idea, Rami was right.Raimi reportedly hated the Venom character. He preferred the classic Spidey villains like Doc Ock, Lizard, Vulture, etc. It shows in his three films.
Ummm... didn't the first Spiderman movie focus on Peter Parker as a teenager? He was in high school, it showed him getting bit, you get the whole origin story with Uncle Ben and Parker's illustrious wrestling career... Did Sony just say, "Hey, you know what movie was awesome? Spiderman 1! Can we do that again?" Don't get me wrong, Spiderman 3 was unadulterated shit writ large, but do we really need to rehash the first movie again? What a fucking disgrace.
Yeah 3 was bad but a far cry from the kind of shit Hollywood is capable of. Just think of what might result if they turned it over to a Michael Bay. *shudder*
Anyway I'm a bit tired of the Spiderman live action flicks. I'd like to see them do a good Green Lantern or Flash. Actually I want another Superman film. Everyone but me hated the Bryan Singer reboot, but I really liked it.
You mean the Superman movie where he didn't really do anything but act brooding and whiney?
I want a Superman reboot, but make it based on his powers in the animated series. He had limits (.50 cal bullets would give him resistance and sting a bit, he had to strain to hold up a train or a building, etc). That crap where he lifted an entire kryptonite island into space, but had trouble stopping a falling plane didn't sit well with me.
Superman is my favorite character, and in my view still hasn't been done justice to this day. Christopher Reeve's version had the right look for the time, but the cheesy comedy killed it. The "reboot" from a couple of years ago put a lifeless underwear model in the role, and it bored me to tears.
Superman almost needs to be paired with a foil, like Batman, to make a good movie. He's used to being the say all/do all, and being all powerful makes it difficult to put him into practical perilous situations. If faced with a multifaceted threat where someone with just as much respect as Superman forces an opposing point of view to solve a problem, it would create the tension for a great movie.
GOT THAT HOLLYWOOD? Please no more Lex Luthor real estate schemes, using kryptonite as a crutch because you can figure out a story, and no more "kissy kissy I'm an outcast nobody understands me boohoo" crap.
Spiderman 3 was fucking terrible. It probably would have been better with Michael Bay. At least then we probably wouldn't have been subjected to emo Peter Parker.
