don't funnel webs absolutely HATE the mere wiff of people? i remember some PBS special, where these spiders were milked for their venom. just the opening of the container and blowing on the spider would cause it to drip venom from its fangs.

is it also true that they're extremely agressive... where they'll run up to you and bite you? or is this some urban legend?

I got bit by a brown recluse before... Your skin feels like it is on fire. Waited a day because I didn't know it was a brown recluse at the time. Went to school and by that time the pain was so unbearable I couldn't take it anymore. They said if I had waited longer my skin would be falling off, longer than that, amputation; so it can be pretty serious.
