Diesel, buffalo, and Lucky Brand. Were the brands including jeans and shirts.

well lucky jeans are only a bill-120, so I'm gonna guess the jeans were diesel

lucky jeans are the shit though

that said, his math is wrong

He only spent 268 on jeans.

268/2 = 143 per pair. So He said 134, either typo or not paying attention.

BTW My jeans last be about 6 months. I only have one pair and wash them one or 2 tmes a month.

ahem. see bolded

i wear luckies. I have 2-3 pairs I rotate every week, probably wash every other. They last me 3-4 years.

Combined the price of the jeans is 420$. Take 20% of that = 336. 336 X .2 = 268. To make it simple I divide by 2 which = 134.

Lord and Taylor has friends and family sale. 20% off then if u have a friend who works there another 20%. And i do have a friend who works there! 🙂

So he didn't PAY 420 for jeans. He paid 268 for jeans worth 420

significant difference

LOL I'm the one not paying attention... 268/2 = 134

edit: apparently I can't quote either

Way more than I spend on pants, but if 2 pairs lasted me 2 years, I wouldn't mind it. A little more than I spend on shirts, but nothing way out of line.

QFT.

Don't be so sure. Metros still think they're cool and they wear it like a badge of shame.

Metros aren't guys. Don't know what sort of hideous life form they are, but they are not guys. 😛

Well you got that right.

Eh, if you have the money then go for it. Hopefully you're just doing it for yourself and not to impress girls. All the girls ive talked to about this say it's weird when the guy has more expensive jeans than they do.

i hadn't bought jeans in two years... so i bought two for $15 each... I'm satisfied.. If you got the money for that and/or that is your priority in life then more power to you.

The last time I went shopping for clothes was 6 months ago. I got 6 shirts and 3 Jeans for 90 bucks. They were 10 dollars each because they were on clearance sale.

I sometimes wonder why people pay more money for less fabric when people by pre ripped jeans

bump for reference for Lucky Jeans .. to me, well worth the cost. the only jeans that fit exactly the way i want with a slight premium. When you wear jeans as often as most, you find a brand that fits to the "T". I own 3 pairs of Lucky Jeans.

For pants, since Lucky do not make pants, i go with Banana Republic or Gap, they usually have the best fit for pants but their denim sucks.

As always, this is a computer forum where people find no plausible reason to spend money on clothing vs the people who find no reason to build their own computer vs a HP.

Person 1 into clothing: i spent 500 bucks on clothing
Person 2 into computers: waste of money, i shop at costco

Person 2 into computers: i spent 600 bucks on a new CPU and HSF
Person 1 not into computers: waste of money, i bought a dell for 600 bucks.

so .. it's your money -- spend how you want.

The assumption you both are making is that those jeans are actually worth $420.

So true. I love buffalo jeans. They cost about $100 but they last for 2 years. The same people calling people out about jeans probably spend $$$ on video cards and other things I consider stupid. To each their own.

I just bought 2 pairs of jeans, a pair of nice shorts, and a button up shirt for about $80 shipped. The jeans last me for 2-3 years, shorts laster forever, and shirts last for 5+ years.

well one is about supporting vanity/conspicuous consumption, the other is a product that is cutting edge technology😛 i think one is clearly more stupid than the other.

No, not really 😉

For dress shirts, maybe. That's absurd for jeans. The most I could ever rationalize paying for a pair of jeans was $40 from Express; I mean, I had a coupon, you can't just waste coupons like that 😛
Then I bought another pair on Black Friday for $25. Win.

My gap jeans cost me about $25 at the outlet and they are going strong after 3 years.

😕
