Spend $40 or more two times at Walmart Stores or walmart.com from 11/18/08 to 12/18/08 and get a $20 statement credit on your amex card account.

Walmart-Amex Offer. The site is legit, i called amex to verify. Registration required.

I am not sure that this will work for everyone with an Amex card. I found this link which seems to indicate that to receive this offer, you needed to be sent the email for this campaign. It looks like it was also directed specifically to the Amex Starwood card holders.

Verbiage from the link:

Fine print:

Well.. with AMEX chopping credit the way they are lately, I would guess they're using this as a reference too..

Under the 'Terms of Agreement' most amx cards (excluding corprate cards) are eligible, and you can receive this offer if you simply go to the site (registration site). Not exclusively for those who recieved the email promo. Also, it states gift cards are excluded, so be careful with that one. Thanks OP.

That's good to know, as the terms say that gift card purchases are excluded.

When I was in line waiting to buy my $40 gift cards, a lady in the next lane over was getting denied buying a bunch of $10 gift cards with her credit card. She even went to talk to a manager about it before relenting and paying by check.

I figured it was a no go, but tried anyways. My cashier said they weren't supposed to allow gift card purchases with a credit card, but let me do it anyways.

This is in CA. Doesn't seem like anyone else has reported having trouble buying GC's with a credit card though...

lots of stores, especially supermarkets, will not let you use a CC to buy gift cards. You can just go to a the self checkout lane and use a stolen card with no problems (that is if it is not reported yet) and buy a few hundred worth in gift cards . They can track their own store card, so that can be cancelled, but they can track down third party gift cards.

Worked great with my USAA Amex card - got the $20 back on my card about 2 days after making the purchases
