my rig is below.
i have upgraded the ram to 1 gb so even fear @ 800x600 (with most every setting maxed out) and 4xAA and 8x AF with textures set to medium) with average fps of 40-70.

now i dl'ed the spellforce 2 demo and it runs like crap. really i mean 13 fps is unacceptabe.
and no matter what i do (i got the same result with 1028x760 that why i tried 800x600) i can't get fps over 24.

can anyone compare and tell me if something is wrong with my system or is the game just that much of a resource hog.

Dunno. My rig is just a Sempron 64 (2GHz) with a 6600GT and 1 GB of PC3200 RAM and I'm not having any trouble at all playing the demo at 800x600 with all settings maxed including textures and 4xAA (in-game options won't let me do AF and I haven't tried playing with AF forced through the drivers yet). I'm not sure what my exact frame rates are but it's at least 30 except for a few seconds when I knock down a building and the fog effects slow things down dramatically. This is with the maximum of 32 military (30 summoned plus the two heroes) in the tutorial. I haven't played the actual demo scenario yet, but I'm going to try and force AF on before I do that just to see what happens.

Sounds like the game isn't optimized for ATI cards, much like Black & White 2 before the patches.

Are there any other ATI users out there having the same problems?

u can turn AA w/ the glow/bloom effect? i thought HDR & AA could'nt be turned on @ the same time?(assuming the game does use HDR, but i believe that's what the "glow " effect is, right?)

Confirmed by several posters on RPGDot. ATI cards are having major problems with this game, getting extremely low framerates.
