Spell Checker

Everybody's spelling is so good, seriously, how do you'all handle spell checking in your posts? 😀

I give the post a quick once-over and then click reply. If I do slip up, you'll see an edit ~30 seconds later 🙂.

I use ms words spell checker on words that I can't remember their proper spelling.

In windows I use QuickSpell. It auto checks you spelling as you type in any program.

On panther I just use the built in spell checker. 🙂

Same here. I learned to spell relatively well in school, so usually I find more typos than outright spelling mistakes. Plus, if I didn't know how to spell a word, do you think I'd notice it in my quick once-over? 😱

Of course, I'd love to be able to run my posts through a spelling checker, but evidently Mozilla doesn't have some of the "conveniences" that IE has in the area of plugins (including the convenient capability of installing toolbars and adware that you don't want 😛). Oh well, supposedly in a future version of Mozilla this kind of thing will be built in.

My actual problem lies with my grammar, not particularly my spelling. However, since most people aren't highschool or college English teachers, most do not notice. 😉 😀

If, in the rare event that I want to use a word I don't know how to spell, I'll look it up. Typoes I usually notice as I make them, or I edit if one gets through 😛

My native language is Dutch, which is not usable on these forums 😉

This is great actually. I am glad to know there is a way to spell check in IE which I intend to try.

It is funny, I am a notoriously bad speller, but I usually know when something is misspelled. At those times I will use MS Word, but that's a pain to have to open a new window just to put a word into for checking.

I have in fact experienced some of those spell check snafu's...........😀 but usually my tag line is "thank goodness for the spell checker" 😛

I cant' spell either, but can usually tell if it's mispelled, funny ain't it. If it's important, I use MS Word, (or ask my excellent speller son). If it's not importent, and I don't care if it's misspelled, like here, I don't bother. Grammar and where commas go, forget it !?!

Well, I'm mostly not getting complaints on the wording... Besides, AFAIK my biggest problem is then/when and the like, and no spell-checkers would fix this. 😉
