Decent?
Looking for cheap but GOOD HS for my 2500+
I actually have a fan that I could use if anyone has suggestions on a bare HS.

I also have one of
THESE laying around... would it do just fine?

Get a ThermalTake Silentboost, I saw them for $23 @ axiontech. They offer performance similiar to a SLK800+22DBA Panaflow for half the cost.:)

That Zalman should work okay, but you're goinna have to leave the fan on high. And no, the WhisperRock II isn't good at all for the money, when for $.50 more, you can get the FalconRock, which is the same everything, but it has a copper core on the heatsink.

Also an extremely nice heatsink, but at 3 times the price. It's worth it, though, if you don't mind the extra $20.

I got one of those for a friend when I upgraded his comp, and for $9 you can't beat it. Has no problems keeping his 1700+@2.0gig 1.65v cool. The thing is quiet, built like a tank and with a copper core and three hole mounting clasp, has all other budget coolers beat by a mile.
