Speeze FU310 enclosure won't detect

Which F'ing drive do you have??? As for the drive and enclosure working together, IF it works with a PATA maxtor it should work with a PATA Seagate... Of course, unless you have a problem with the drive, enclosure, or your install of xp... I assume you're connecting the external power block to the enclosure AND using the USB connection that works with the other drive inside... Right??

Sorry.

I have a Speeze FU310 which I've been using with a Maxtor 80gig for 3 months now. I just bought the Seagate and tried to use it in the enclosure.

With the new Seagate, I've formatted it without partitions, then I tried 2 60gig partitions. It always works when it's in the computer as an internal drive, but as an external drive, XP doesn't detect it (on 3 different systems) correctly. It says it detects the USB device, but doesn't recognize it.

What's PATA?
Drive works as far as I can tell (in my comp w/IDE connection)
Enclosure works 'cuz I tried the Maxtor again and it detects as usual.
XP should work right (tried the enclosure+seagate on 3 systems)

Enclosure set-up for Maxtor and Seagate same. Only difference is that the Maxtor is my boot drive and Seagate is new drive (blank, but formatted - also tried with one file on there)

Its an ATA drive, try using it on a clean pc that hasn't had the drive on it before (None of the software installed). Sounds softwarish to me.
