speedtest, is this good?

It just gives you really fast speed for a few seconds, like about how long it takes to load a few webpages.
There is a noticable "snappiness" though. Not for downloads though, doesn't last that long.
$50/mo.

As some still stuck on dial up and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting for even some sort of suckie slow dsl to become available, I can't say I hate you lucky people who have cable service available, its more like green with envy in my dreams.

But since I don't hate you folks, I want you remember your poor unfortunate lemon and see if you can find in in your heart to lend me a cup of broadband.

Comcast for me.

CasioTech have you unplugged your modem recently? You should. Then run speedtest again. Your download shows a tier of service that I thought they no longer offered. I'm paying for their lowest (6 meg) and you can see what I'm getting,

Also, they said they were going to increase upload and it looks like they have (at least for me) as that number is double what I normally used to get. Yours is in the stratosphere for residential service. Then again it's about what Billb2 is getting.

I imagine this could all vary by region. Unplug your modem for a minute. When they increased my download speed I was told to do this to allow it to 'take'. It worked.

Lastly, I'm not certain one isolated test tells the tale. I think a number of them over time and then taking an average would be more realistic. Just my thoughts.

The tests aren't the best thing to show download speed. Comcasts "speed booster" is just burst, for x number of seconds you have whatever bandwidth is available. Then it throttles back to whatever you pay for. So like in California They are getting speedtests of like 30Mb/s but they really only get like 10-12 once the burst is over. All connections burst a little, Like when i start a ftp upload it is normally at like 400Kb/s then slows back.
My favorite speedtest is running a linux torrent or something, then watching the SNMP graphs.

nobody, what do you pay for internet?

With Suddenlink, I pay $20/month for 1Mb down and 256Kb up...It gets me by, but I'd much rather have a faster connection.
