SpeedStep will not stay enabled in BIOS, and when I can get it to load the applet into Power Options, it stays grayed out (except sometimes the Advanced button is not grayed out and I will enable it, but it will not take upon reboot).
There seem to be all kinds of fixes for OS *except* W2K.
I would rather not do a clean install of OS, which appears to be the only fix.

I upgraded cpu on my old HP Pavilion (n5135) notebook from original Celeron 550 mhz to a Pentium III 900 mhz. It stays at 700 mhz.
Am running latest BIOS.
