Speeding up 13" MBP

So it's come down to these 2 choices:

(A) 500gb momentus xt + 8gb gskill ram (Newegg combo, $315 shipped)

(B) Intel 160gb ssd + newmodeus hd caddy ($465 + $47 = $512 - SSD bought locally)

Price difference ~$200

Even though the SSD combo would leave me with 4gb RAM, would it still smoke choice (A) in terms of overall system speed?

EDIT : Newegg won't let me ship to a US address from my international Paypal account, so (A) is off the table. 🙁

Could I have done that? Anyway, too late on the combo - looks like they are out of stock of the 500gb momentus xt!
