Speeding ticket question...

Alright I live in Illinois and I'm 18. I have recently gotten my 3rd ticket, which means suspension if guilty. I paid the first 2 tickets online( means automatic guilty plea) and I failed court supervision on the first ticket in like a few weeks. The cop told me I can go to court and ask the judge for a 2nd court supervision, but he said the court costs would be like $285. Or, he said I could pay the $75 and get it suspended. Now, does it really cost $285 to just plead guilty and ask for another shot at court supervision?

EDIT: OK to save time, I'm an idiot for having 3 tickets in 3 months. There.

Do people honestly think it's a good idea to post a thread like this on THIS forum?

Consult a lawyer if you want to make sure you keep your license.

All further advice in this thread will not be as good as this post.

well, ATOT is not known to be populated by lawyers and the like.

you sound pretty dangerous if you get 3 tickets in three months, you need your license suspended to protect the public safety

And we're all extraordinarily law-abidng citizens and grammar Nazis...none of us would ever exceed the posted speed limit or violate ANY traffic law. We ar gud drivurs.
Yoo shuld bee shot fer speding or sumthin. A bycikle is to gud fer yoo.
Yoo nead to wak insted of driveng.

I wouldn't ask about tickets on ATOT since there are quite a few known ticket Nazis who insist on the police being always right and equipment being infalliable so even if you were ticket doing 67 in a 65 you have to pony up.

Yeah, 3 tickets in 3 months, it's a rash of corrupt cops and malfunctioning gear.

Could be if it's in a small town with known speed traps.

Well, I AM a lawyer, and here the advice I have for you:

Turn in your license and buy a tricycle. You're obviously not mature enough to be behind the wheel of a car.

Yeah, the police probably made 3 separate mistakes with the same driver in 3 months.

Pay the ticket, take the suspension and drive slower so that they can't pull you over for driving on a suspended.

Pay the $75, get suspended, and hopefully you cool down by the time you can drive again. People like you give teen drivers a bad name even though I know many of them are fine drivers.
