err, it's Texas - aka death row state :p

why not, u would reather pay the fine instead of having some sleem chances of getting out of a ticket?

1. Because traffic court is just a moneymaking venture. It has nothing to do with honesty or safety and everything to do with fund raising.

2. Because you are (technically) innocent until proven guilty. A ticket represents a formal accusation, but you aren't guilty of anything until it is proven in court. There's nothing dishonest about making them do their job.

Most of the time you don't even get far enough to plead one way or the other. You show up and before you are adjudicated, you talk to the prosecutor who offers you a lesser charge if you plead guilty straight away.

You still plead guilty - no damage to your honesty or self-respect. You pay a lower penalty at the same time. The court still gets what it's after -- $$$. It's what they call a "Win-Win Situation" in sales.

Easiest way to not pay for tickets is to not break the laws. But im not gonna argue it, because there will never be agreement.

actually easiest way not to get a ticket is to be a cop, peramedic, firefighter or goverment offical or being married to one of those

You are kidding right? in response to #1, of course its for your damn safety. Rules/regulations of the road are not out there for money. They are there to control the maniacs on the roads. There are enough accidents as it is.

and as for #2, making someone do there job is rediculous. if you are guilty of something, own up to it. and yes, i'd pay my fine, even if there was a loophole. trust me, i've been in situations like this before, this isn't just high and mighty bs.

As for being a cop/paramedic/whatever, thats an entirely different subject. Certain people get some worldy respect through their occupation.

But thats not the point. Driving is a priveledge. Not everyone is an expert driver. It might not be super dangerous for me or you to do 120 , but i do guarantee you that if you are going 70 on the same highway would be safer then going 120. If you think otherwise your a fool.

And it doesn't matter. Its illegal. If you get caught, then you pay. If you dont wanna pay, then dont take the chance of getting caught.

If that were the truth, the speed limit on the Schuylkill Expressway would be 80MPH and not 50MPH. It's the same as gun control laws - the maniacs are going to do whatever the hell they want regardless of the law. Especially when many people view speed laws as just "The price you have to pay to go fast." It's a convenience fee to them. This is all about money.

You would still be paying a fine, just less. I guess if you like to be a sucker and hand away your money, that's your business.

Sucker, Not im my books. But I also view people like you as scum.

And you are a moron if you think traffic rules are all about money. Just blow red lights whenever you want? Forget stop signs. Lets go 100 down a residential road. Who needs headlights. Driving drunk is FUN!

I disagree with that. When you have a fine that high, the lawyer probably knows maneuvers you do not and might have a better chance of getting you a reduced fine at this point. OTOH, in NJ you'd be fighting to keep your license, not just for a couple of bucks, so it may not be worth the cost in TX.

I've never been pulled over, let alone ticketed. Who's the scum now, baby? If you want to pull that mindless slippery slope crap, that's your business as well. For the rest of us who can actually think, we'll go on as normal. They thought that lifting the nationwide 55MPH recommendation would lead to just what you are saying.....yet I don't see any of this.

Funny that, sucker.

So define a perfect fine line? There isn't one. So live by the laws. I think that they are pretty decent.

stop signs, traffic lights etc are the laws that we cant as society can't fuction with out. But law such putting 70 mph speed limit on 3 lanes highway which is open most of the time is stupid as its only made so that local community can make money of people that are going thru and go above the speed limit

I don't know how it is in TX, but I got a ticket a few weeks ago here in FL (11 mph over). If you take the court option and lose, you have to pay $500 in court costs. Not worth risking IMO unless you have a good (=legal) excuse.

what you should do is stop crying, suck it up and face the ticket like a man. you were speeding and cought now you have to face the consequences.
