Speeding ticket... Guilty or nolo contendere?

Doesn't matter. No lo contendre simply means that you aren't pleading guilt. It's a useful plea when you commit a felony, since in a subsequent trial the opposing party cannot introduce evidence of a prior no lo contendre plea, but can do so with a prior guilty plea. For a speeding ticket, it makes no difference - a guilty plea to a minor violation is harmless and inadmissable in a subsequent trial.

Is there any difference in this case? No contest usually just shields you from having an admission of guilt that can be used against you in civil court.
Although, perhaps it could shield you from an insurance increase?

I checked nolo contendere, Latin for "I do not want to contest" 😀.

u are lucky, why not fight it never know what can happen maybe cop don't show up?

I wouldn't lose my license or go to jail no matter what. Like I said, this is Texas. It's just a speeding ticket. You only lose your license for repeated offenses. I believe, 4 tickets in a 1 year period or something like that. Also for going twice the limit maybe.

Thats the worst advice i've heard all week. Worse then Evadman's tip of the day.

WHy? Contesting the ticket is your right. There's nothing wrong with exercising it. The worst that can happen is he pays the same fine he's already agreeing to pay. However, he could get a lesser charge, or get off on a technicality.

Honesty, self respect. Im guessing thats why he never put that up as an option. He's guilty, he knows he's guilty, the state knows that he's guilty. Why try to fudge his way out?

Easiest way to not pay for tickets is to not break the laws. But im not gonna argue it, because there will never be agreement.
