I almost got yelled at by some other guy today for speeding, LOL. I was going like the speed limit and then I sped up to like 45-50 on a 35 road, and he followed me. I stopped at my local grocery store and parked and he pulled by, and I drove off.

Scary stuff. I got yelled at once another time too, but for going like 70 on a 25 or 35 road, and they guy threatened to kill me. Man I seriously hate that stuff.

Funny eh.

70 on a 25 road?? What was this, some little residential street? The kind with little kids playing on the sidewalk?? Geez....Nothings wrong with going fast, but that is ridiculus.

God, I love arrogant people and their vigilante justice.

I had that happen to me the other day. I stopped at the local convienience store on my way to work to get the paper. Since I am only grabbing a paper, I stopped my car (didn't even turn it off) near the door (not in a parking spot, but I wasn't blocking the laneway or anything either). So this mouthy guy comes up to me and says "Do you think you're special and you get to park here?"

So I said "Do you think your special and have the right to tell me about it? You're just pi$$ed you didn't think of it first!"

Then he mumbled something, and walked away... heheheh.

I agree...I wouldn't ever pull over and yell at someone for speeding, but doing 70 in a 25 (most likely a residential road) is both dangerous and selfish.

Well everyone of my friends drives 70+, and trust me no kids play on this road, the guy that came up to me telling me that kids play on the road frequently?

Everyone at least goes 40-50 on the road and the guy that followed me that time, I was only going 60.

<<Well everyone of my friends drives 70+>>

Do you know that your insurance costs 3-8 times (yes 8), more than some one over 30?
Do you know why?
Because it costs a lot to bury people (and sue their relatives, and pay hospital bills, and shrink bills, and lost time from work bills, and...)!

10 over the limit. Reasonable. Illegal, but reasonable.

70+ inside the city.... can you say MIRANDA, not the girl. The rights.

They will haul your butt to JAIL for 45mph over the limit.

Might wanna re-think that life style.

I can see why it costs so much, because so many people my age DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE at all. I can exactly see why they don't know how to drive, because they don't pay attention to the road, or they just don't know how to control a car.

Now it happens to me, and rarely, but I always see some adult not knowing how to drive at all. Makes me think hard on how I should drive. I would like to drive slow, and I have been trying to not drive crazily from what has happened, but everyone wants to like ruin your life for going 40-50 on a 25-35 road.

Heh, maybe I should just follow people and be a stalker, then I don't have to even think about driving fast, since I'll always be behind someone.

And good thing I haven't been caught yet. My friend was speeding, and got a $450 ticket, so yes I am paying attention to how I'm driving.

LOL, the licence is easy kaiotes, just how you handle how fast a car can go is something else.

Well at least I think I don't drive 70 much anymore on a 25 road. Actually to think of it, I don't even think the speed limit is 25, but whatever, I drive most likely 40-50 on roads now. Well thanx for your inputs, I see you guys would obviously stop me and like kill me for driving that fast, LOL.

Hey, if I caught you driving 70 on our street, which is 25-30MPH, I'd hunt ya down like the dog you are, and open a can of whoopass on ya, for jeaopardizing the safety of my family and neighbors. That is exactly why immature kids, should not drive. :|

70 in a 25...has nothing to do with how good of a driver you are. Do you know how little reaction time you'd have if something just "popped" right in front of you while you were going 70mph? Roughly you'd be moving at around 100 feet/second...by the time your brain analyzed what was in front of you and realized what you should do, you'd have already run it over.

I think the majority of us are just trying to say SLOW DOWN on the residential roads. 20 mph over the limit on a highway is one thing (still bad, but understandable depending on where you live)...but 45mph over the limit in a residential zone is just asking to hit someone.

Dude, I drive my jacked up SUV 85 in the 15mph zone in the trailer park while eating pizza and talking on my cell phone. Yeah man, it's cool yo. I only hit the fire hydrant once, eh.

errr, riiiiiight :|

Generally it seems 35-45 speed limits can be easily passed, but 15-25 limits are usually there for a reason...

you must be a 16 yr old thinking he is Dale Ernhart. Let me put it to you buddy, speed thrills but kills. Take it from a formula 3 driver and a rally class driver. Its not how fast you drive or how much you think you can keep your car in control, there will always be a time when you are going to be in for a surprise. Your attitude is typical of a 16 - 18 yr old.

Now if I found you going that speed down my street, I will take out my car and call the cops while following you. And consider the fact that I have put several drunks in for trouble by following them at high speed while talking to 911.

And if you think your so good, consider this, the last person who said that (someone I know personally) spun out in his prelude around a curve. He was doing 50 in a 25 zone, and it fish tailed and flipped over. He had broken a rib and spent 3 months in crutches.

If you think your a good driver and love speed, try the race tracks, or the drag strip. Or if you really like a challenge, try rally class. Just imagine going down a wet forest path at 100Kmph (62Mph) with the path wide enough just your car.

i haven't found a rally course that is anywhere near affordable. but i agree: keep speed on the track, or extremely sparsley populated areas if you are going to keep on the street. road race is cool, not on street. ^_^ and where do you go rally racing eh? anywhere on the mid atlantic coast (america not europe) just wanted to kno. and oh and what are the regulations for getting a car ready to go for the rally?

I don't mind speeders too much, but doing 2x+ the speed limit where people might be crossing the street is pretty selfish. In those kinds of streets, even if you hit a small racoon, your car will lose control like there's no tomorrow. I usually leave the speeding to highways and some streets that look like they can be highways ;). I've had my fair share of speeding at 132mph on 65 zone, but that's only once... doing it consistently just brings you closer and closer to a grim grim future!

btw, I do rally!!! not professionally, but my friends say I should do it... cuz whenever there's rain or snow, I take my friends to the nearest parkinglot with lots of curbs and few straights and show them what a car can REALLY DO!!! Rainy weather is still manageable... but in snow, or even worse, compressed snow, sometimes you just can't help but lose control! I lost control once showing my friend how fishtails can be easily controlled on a large open road only to slip on black ice on one turn and making the car do a 540º and eventually hit the curb. No damage was done though cuz it was a 3 lane road both sides and a curb that only leads to open fields. I would never do such crazy things with obstacles around... Anyway, that was my first and last accident (accident with 0 damage :))... nobody was there to actually witness it cuz it was 3am during a fairly heavy snowstorm.

so I guess what I need to say is: "speed responsibly" :)

WOW!!! Why do you drive so fast? You in a Scooby Impreza P1 or Evo VI or something??? And funny thing the guy tailed you at speed so he was speeding too! ;) Could yell at him too if you wanted to!

Yea, real funny. When you run over a child playing in the street, and spend the rest of your life regretting it, you'll laugh the whole time.

asshole..

I speed, but I'm a fairly reasonable driver. That said I think that ocassionally overly sensitive people probabaly take offense to my driving. I've taken up the habit of noticing if people are taking the same corners as me (ie, following). Nobody has followed me yet but I do keep an eye on it. Vigilante justice for driving is BS - because I'm not part of the 90% of the population who still doesn't know how to use a bloody 4-way stop. I'm aggressive but I'm also cautious and I never step on people's right of way.

good_guy is right about speeding and racing of course. What he said is most likely falling on deaf ears because I'd heard it all before as well. I used to drive like a God-Damned lunatic; all of my friends did. Some of us had ridiculously fast cars as well. All of us got in at least one accident in our first year driving (thankfully all minor except for the friend who totalled their new BMW). Only in my 20's (23 now) did I finally lose the need for speed...well, I still have it but its highly tempered by the fact I know that driving fast on public roads is lethal. I remember driving in our minivan with 6 other passengers squeeling around corners. To me then it seemed safe because I was a better and more responsive driver than the average adult. Now it is apparent to me how dangerous it is. This is why teenager insurance is so high and why teens have the most accidents (well, them and seniors).

Anybody who races around streets (you know who you are) should really stop doing it, although you're in such a frame of mind about it that you probably ignore me and any other recommendations, so I suppose my only wish could be you lose that bug for speed before it kills you or somebody else.

Yucky Story around 6-7 years ago when I freshly had my license a guy in the area was given a new Stealth. He was racing a mustang one day and lost control slamming into two young girls at a bus stop, killing them instantly. This is the sort of thing that can happen...there are still flowers out where these girls were hit.
