Speeding does kill. Please be careful out there.

I just got a phonecall from my mother. Her best friend's son who is 18 was killed when he lost control of his car speeding. Its just another wakeup call, please be careful out there.

I'm sorry for the loss of your moms friends son. Situations like that are quite a abrupt shock.

hey TheKidd,
The loss of a family friend is no time to rub somebodies nose in some arguement you had weeks ago. Get a clue.
Sorry to hear that Tex.

Actually, that is a misconception. Speeding of itself does not kill. In this case, we see loss of control and inexperience led to the crash.

That said, it does not lessen my sorrow at the loss.

And yes, please be careful.

Err...based on the title of the thread I don't think this was about mourning the loss of Texmaster's family friend. I am sorry that he died, but my post was in response to the PSA title of the post, and Texmaster's previous history of flaming those who support the cell-phone ban in New York.

Yeah, and lookout for all those 16 yr old blondes in SUVs. seriously!

Sorry to hear about that man, really am.

Thanks for the conscerns guys. I'm not taking it that hard myself as I bearly knew the kid but I thought it was a good time to remind everyone that speeding is extremely dangerous.

<< You know what else kills? Driving while talking on a cell phone! (just for you Texmaster) >>

You really do live up to your name dont you.

I cant think of a more immature statement to make in a thread like this.

This kid didn't have a cell phone. He was driving too fast and he lost control.

You're an ass to use this as a petty personal attack on me when I was just trying to remind everyone of a dangerous habit most of us have including me.

I am sorry for offending you at this difficult time, and will refrain from any further flames. However, I do find it ironic that someone who adamately defended a driver's right to talk on a cell phone while driving would give us a PSA on the dangers of speeding. Again, I am sorry for the lost of your mother's friend's son.

what does speeding have to do with traffic casualties?

Does speeding 85 in a 55 vs going the speed limit really make a difference when your car flips and ends up head first in a concrete barrier?

its not the speed that kills.

I believe speed will play an important role regardless. Physic dictates the greater the momentum, the greater the force of the impact will be.

Texmaster: Sorry for the loss. My cozin was nearly killed once when he was on his motorcycle. Scary thing 🙁
