Umm, just a few observations:

1) How do you "practice" for this sport?
2) There is not enough snow...
3) This is probably the most exciting footage shot on that mountain since The Eiger Sanction

how is this different than hang gliding or sky diving? The only thing i see different about it is that they are wearing skis rather than real shoes.

The distance between hard objects that have been known to cause pain as well as the frequency that he approaches them.

Wow. That looks amazingly awesome fun. Well, apart from the multiple pointy hard things approaching at alarming speed.

Not something you want to learn the hard way. So, does anyone know where you sign up for lessons? :)

I must say I'm impressed at the speed at which this guys throws himself off mountains - but these guys are the sickest I've ever seen.

Indeeed. It's bullshite... simply para-gliding with skis on and purposely touching down along the way. Whoopdedoo, that's an XTREMEly desperate attempt to invent a new cross-over sport. The name itself is nonsensical as it is neither flying nor particularly speedy. Indeed, it is slower than normal. It's faster than skiing. I suppose if they actually stuck to the ground they could call it speed skiing. But no.

Does anyone remember the vid of the guy gliding like a flying squirrel (skin flaps between his outstretched arms and his body)? That was SOOO much more intense.

Hmmm ... I'd hang-glide or sky-dive before I'd try what that guy in the video did!
