Here's what I'm seeing:

HD0: 37C
Temp1: 39C
Core 0: 31C
Core 1: 30C

I'm guessing the first one is my Seagate, and the last two are the two cores on my proc. But what could the 2nd one be? I don't know that I have any other components with temperature sensors (I'm sure the 2nd one isn't my GTS).

Could be North Bridge, or just an "ambient" sensor from the mobo, for the case temperature.

Head into the PCHealth section of the BIOS and see what temps are being monitored there.

How are you getting a core 0 and core 1 reading? I'm using Speedfan 4.32 and all I get is a core reading which corresponds to core 1. CPU is an AMD X2 3800+.

I'm not sure really. I didn't have to do anything special to get it to show both cores. Did you set affinity to single core? Does CPUZ show 2 cores?

What I don't understand is why it shows the core temps so low yet the cpu so much higher? it makes no sense to me.

CPU-Z, Task Manager, and every other program show 2 cores. Is there an affinity setting in Speedfan? If so I couldn't find it.

I don't so. It could just be that SpeedFan is unable to read the sensor for the second core for some reason (it may not know the location to read to get that info). It doesn't work perfectly for me either (sometimes it reports the fan RPMs, and sometimes it seems to have trouble finding them).

Weird. When I had a dual-core installed, Speedfan read both core temps just fine.

It recognizes that it is a dual core because it shows 2 cpu useage graphs. Strange!

Yeah, with my X2 3800+, Speedfan reads 2 core temperatures.

What OS are you using?? I had trouble with Vista and Speedfan until they came out with version 4.32
