Not sure if anyone else has tried this but it works for me. If you want your GT to run cooler you can unplugg the stock fan and plug it into a 3pin to 4 pin converter like this

It dropped my idle temps by about 5 C from 55C to 50C I never checked full load temps on the GT while it is actually running a program like that (rthbl sp*) swirling ball thing with it plugged into the card but with the fan plugged into the adapter it goes up to 73C while running that program. It technically should also put less stress on the card not having to feed the fan some voltage so maybe it will go to the GPU instead??? hehe I havn't had much time to test if I can OC more but LMK if anyone else tries this.

It is a touch louder as it speeds up the fan a bit but not as fast as when that thing first spins up when booting lol.

I dont think this will make much difference under full load because the fan tends to run full speed at that time anyways. So, your just running a 5 degree cooler Idle temp, which is ok but nothing drastic.

Hey J, does the GPU fan connector match up with the converter that you linked without mods? I'll have to check this out tomorrow night because I have a couple of those converters in my spare parts box. :) Thanks!

while its not "perfect" it does fit no problem without breaking anything.

I will check out to see if it helps full load temps tonight although keysplayer you are mostly likely right it won't help full load as much or may not help at all.
