That's a terrible idea. You want everyone on the road going the same speed.

How on earth would a cop determine who to pull over then? They'd have to have something glaringly obvious on their car, or there would be plenty of catch-and-release type stops.

There should be no speed limit, but if there must 110 MPH for the far left lane, and 85 mph for the other lanes.

I don't know about that... 17-year olds flying past you at their car's limit... not very comforting.

I'd say limit the power of a car by experience level, then you can start messing with the limits.

Isn't the driving age in Germany like 16.

I don't know, but after reading the other comments about the price they pay for a license, would you want to piss off daddy after he spends $1000 for your privilege to drive ?

It's way too easy for any punk kid here to get a license. Punk kids travel in packs. They like to impress their friends... yikes.

I find it amazing how in the U.S if you go 200 mph on the freeway you go to jail, but in Germany people go over 200 mph (321.8 km/h) on the Autobanh all the time. I would pay a $1000 if it means I could drive 200 mph on the freeway.

shouldnt speedlimit base on traffic condition, if it heavy traffic, it should be slower,

but at night when there is no car, speed limit should be like 80-90

i think the speed limits are fine, just put like a minimum of 60 on the highways or something, i hate driving behind old people going 45 on the free way. it should be illegal. (or if it is illegal it should be enforced more.)

You cannot compare American roadways to German roadways. In Germany it is treated as a privilege to drive, licenses are quite expensive ($800+), drivers in general are head and shoulders above American drivers, and what is required to obtain a license is much, much more extensive.

Also the Germans spend over 4 times as much on their road ways to make them as safe as possible at high speeds than America does, that being said, I don't see the country as a whole agreeing to pay more taxes just to go as fast as they want.

I believe that they are some of the most dangerous people on the road...
Especially if they are in the middle lane...
Because everybody else wants to get around them quickly...
But if there is somebody else going slow next to them traffic bottles up in the third lane...
Creating very dangerous situations...

i think after age 55, there should be mandatory driving re-tests every 5 years. if you fail, you lose your licence and cant drive, if you dont show up every 5 years, you lose your licence. that will put an end to really bad old drivers.

Around 5, and I go over 100 mph on a daily basis, and still no speeding ticket.

if we're only addressing accidents then high speed isn't the problem. rush hour is. by far the vast majority of accidents are during heavy and slowed traffic.

I wonder how many people are actually going to fall for your crap. More than likely this is just an attempt to get people riled up.

I guess I'm one! :)
