Speed boost?

Im have order my parts and was just wondering, how noticable will the speed difrence be when Im through upgrading my system? here are the changes.
1.4GHZ Tbird --> 2500+ barton
256 PC2100 --> 512 PC3500 XMS
Epox 8kha --> Shuttle Nforce2 board (not sure on the number)
Geforce2 MX --> Geforce4 Ti 4200
Linux 2.4.21 --> Linux 2.6.0 (this one might not happen)
will I be blown away by the speed? or will I be left wondering why I did this?

If you game, encode audio and video, or anything like that then the difference will be quite noticeable. If all you do is surf the web, check your e-mail, and listen to mp3s then you're really not going to notice any difference.
