I have spent in the area of 20 or more hours using and training the speech
recognition program in Vista - Ultimate. While it does appear at times the
recognition program is adjusting to my speech style the majority of the usage
the speech recognition program continues to makes many recognition word
association and spelling mistakes.

What steps can I do to improve speech recognition to more quickly adjust to
MY speech pattern?

I use a high end Plantronics USB Mic.

Program issues: speech recognition will not always start; will not always
shut down properly.

Wish list: would like to print all the commands on one sheet of paper -
currently not available.

BTW: I am a MSDN member I have a valid RTM version which I have been using
since its release.

Bring up help and do a search for "speech commands" it will give you a list of commands that you can print.

I havent used it much so dont really have suggestions for use...

Are you using a mic that sits on your desk or headset? I use a Plantronics USB headset, and recognition is fantastic.

I have NEVER had a problem with speech recognition not starting or shutting down properly. Ever (but then again i've only been using it for about 3 weeks). 'Stop Listening' 'Start Listening' has never ever failed on me. I've never had the speech recognition not load up on start up, or had it not properly shut off when i wanted it shut off (like when i want to play a game and need all the resources i need).

As for the commands on one sheet of paper... that would help (i haven't checked the actual manual yet, i'll do that tonight), but so far just 'what can i say' has pretty much dealt with any issues i've had. I'm even attempting to use Putty now to SSH into a server and seeing if i can use VIM completely hands free!

I'm not aware of a pre-canned one. But it should be easy enough to cut/paste the stuff you want and condense it onto a single sheet of paper...
