Speech in UT. How do you make/do "custom verbage?"

I was playing UT online the other night, and this guy had this incredible model. Looked like the Alien from the movie "Alien". Anyway, he had all these cool sayings going, like "you must die human" "bow to me now" "not long for you" and stuff like that. I had the stock "loser" "die bitch". Suddenly, I felt inadequate!

How do you do this? The speech thing? I know that you bind each saying to a key, but how do you get the custom verbage in there to begin with?

Was it just showing up or was he actually saying it out loud?

i think this is what you want to do:
- open the console (using ~ key by default)
- type "preferences" and you will end up in the advanced preferences
- choose from the first option (i think it's advanced control or something)
- choose "raw key binding"
- assign the keys as you want

eg: assign Z to "say cover me up, i'm going to get the flag"
and when you press Z it will show up as that in the console (only display it, can't actually say/speak it... otherwise it will be very cool )

as far as alien skin... heh, never seen that before... i've seen skaarj and nali priest and some others, but never alien... where are you playing anyway?

Hi there. Thanks for the replies. It was Wed or Thurs night..can't remember. It was showing up & you could hear it. It was the weirdest thing. Way cool though. I will check out that voice pack site. Thanks.

Oh, you said WHERE were you playing. I honestly don't know. I'm new to the online thing and when UT pulls up the list of servers, I just look for ones that dont' need a password to join, see if they are playing DM and in I go. I haven't been playing online long enough to have any favorite servers yet. Thanks again.
