If it's a new version of ricochet I'm going to firebomb their offices.

What's wrong with you? I'm buying Half-Life 2 solely for Richochet: Source. I mean, what else is there?

I think it will be Capture the flag, deathmatch and such for their new maps. I think one of the german mags said that.

OT; what makes CS: Source better than the original CS? I know it uses the source engine, but are the graphics any better?

CSNation Graphical Comparisons

That guy has a crappy video card. The difference is far greater than that on my 6800GT.
It's biased anyhow, they're using FSAA on the CS:S screenshots, but not the CS 1.6 screenshots.

I hope they use some of the environments from the single player for the multiplayer, the single player ones look unbelievable.

I found it on HLFallout somewhere. The quote was from the same guy who mentioned that HL2 had gone gold.

is it just me? i like the CS1.6 models much better. sure the CSS graphics are smoother, but i don't like the models nearly as much

you're just not use to them. people complained when the made the jump from the old models to the new ones, now everyone is fine with them.

Do you think it was meant to be a surprise? or hacked together at the last minute to appease the masses?

I have no clue. :) If it really is a redone DM Classic (which is pure conjecture on my part), I don't think it would take very long to develop.

I've been thinking about that also. I recall someone threw stuff around like capture the flag and all that, that would be pretty neat.
