Specifying multiple types of link properties with css?

Is it possible to have multiple versions of a:link, a:visited, etc., and just specify which set to use where? I thought I'd be able to do it with classes with the stylesheet but it doesn't seem to be working. Only translates the first set and uses that for everything.

Ah, I didn't put the test, chump, etc, inbetween a.*.link. Thanks you sir.
