Why would that happen? the G1 kept the exact same price for their entire lifespan... the G2 lowered the price... don't expect intel to drop prices until G3

Um...no. When launched MSRP was over $500 for the 80GB model. Today it's below $350 at normal retail.

EDIT: And there's going to be a "Colossus 4X" version featuring four controllers? That could get mighty interesting very quickly as these SSD drives scale very well in raid arrays.

didn't it ONLY drop in price due to competition? particularly the vertex?
My point was, that intel isn't gonna slash prices unless something forces them too...
