So, all of this happened to Peter Singer because he doesn't believe in God? Does this mean none of this would have happened if he believed.

Here's the sad result of denying God and completely losing your moral bearings:

"Peter Singer is the Princeton bioethicist who first broke into the public's consciousness more than thirty years ago with Animal Liberation, a book in which he claimed that granting human beings special privileges based on being human is "speciesist"—discrimination against animals.
Instead of society being human centric, he asserted that the lives and well-being of animals deserve "equal consideration" with those of humans. "

Singer’s writings consistently elevate the rights of animals above disabled or unborn human beings, including the advocacy of infanticide. He has openly indicated that the “old” ethical order his teachings are intended to supplant is one based on the Genesis teaching of mankind made in the image of God. Which of course he regards as untenable due to his evolutionary belief that all life emerged naturally from chemicals to its present state of order over millions of years.

This kook was a featured speaker at a recent world Atheism convention in Australia.

made in the image of god or not, we are clearly more intelligent than any other species on the planet. there's a reason why we rule it.

human >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> animal

of course if this happens then we really are fucked.

So you're both kooks; one of you believes in the fairy tales published in childrens books, and one of you is a idiot Christian.

Wow. You have way too much time on your hands. You're getting so worked up about some book published during the Carter administration that you're spending saturday aftenoon posting about it on a web forum. I guess I shouldn't cast stones, but seriously -- take a deep breath, and go outside in the sun for a few minutes. Nobody cares.

I'd rather my dogs have more rights than the OP. At least, they wouldn't be stupid enough to post this crap.

I pretty much had my mind made up about religious stuff when I was their age. I went to Catholic school up until 8th grade, and went to church 1+ times per week. I was just going through the motions....

you don't know much about kids if you think they are to blame..

their parents can get them to have some pretty wacky beliefs..doesn't mean they will have all the same beliefs, but people can be conditioned to do heinous things and think its normal

I found Jesus once, in the glovebox of a 79 Cutlass Vista Cruiser I bought for a beater. Unfortunately for my soul, I sold him along with the car a year and a half later.
